Chris Goodwin, Head Band DirectorChris Goodwin (He/Him) is the Head Band Director at Aldine Middle School. This is his 6th Year in Aldine ISD, having previously taught at Davis and Aldine High Schools.
Prior to his time in Aldine, Mr. Goodwin taught at Dekaney High and was the Director of Bands at Azle High School. He holds a Masters from SHSU and a Bachelors from UH and is in his 29th year in Education. Mr. Goodwin plays Percussion and Low-Brass. He is also the proud father of 2 Boys. |
Christopher Garcia, Assistant Band DirectorMr. Garcia is the Assistant Band Director at Aldine Middle School. This is his first year in Aldine ISD and his 3rd year teaching. Before AMS, he taught band in Louise ISD in Louise, TX.
Mr. Garcia graduated with his Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from the University of North Texas (Go Mean Green!) in 2015. While there, Mr. Garcia studied music education under Dennis Fisher, Nicholas Williams, Donna Emmanuel, and Crystal Gerrard; as well as studying Clarinet with Deborah Fabian. While attending UNT, Mr. Garcia performed with a variety of musical ensembles such as the Green Brigade Marching Band, UNT Wind Ensemble, Basketball Band, and the 8 o'clock Steel Band. Mr. Garcia will be teaching the beginning woodwind classes this year. He is a member of the Texas Music Educator's Association, Texas Bandmaster Association, and Phi Mu Alpha. Mr. Garcia lives in Houston with his cat, Orange Julius. In his spare time he enjoys watching his favorite sports teams, learning how to cook new dishes, and spending way too much time playing video games. |
